SILENT MEDIA PC

Right components for my Media PC: Choosing No noise pc 300 or 500 both will do the job. In a good media pc you will need a good video card and if you are planning to view HD video select a video card that is HDCP capable that way if you will be watching a Blu-ray or HDDVD video format it will be capable of displaying it Sound card is needed to produce a theater like sound experience out of your pc. Onboard sound cards are just not the same quality as pci cards and you can plug your pc straight from sound card to aux input of your home theater system or amplifier, so select a dedicated video card of your choice. Onboard video and sound not only steals performance out of your pc processor but reduces the true Media PC experience. Hard Drive capacity is just your decision the more the better but consider a different storage sources such as Rewritable DVD drive that will be more budget friendly than buying a double sized Hard drive. Fax modem will be needed only in case if you are planning to use dial up internet service provider with your pc. If you are planning to get a high speed ISP such as Broadband cable or high speed dsl service you will use the built in Ethernet connection and a provided modem from your isp. If you will be running a few programs and pc services at the same time we suggest getting 1gig of system ram and if you are planning to run a heavier load of applications at the same time consider 2gig of ram and a Dual core Processor featured in our no noise pc 500 line all of our featured processors Intel or AMD are 64 bit ready and compatible with the next generation of software including Windows Vista. Flash Reader comes standard with 300 or 500 series and is convenient if you use flash memory sticks to move data from another pc or pictures from your camera without cables, the next Windows operating system is said to use and recognize flash memory cards as system cache, if you have any flash memory cards you can use them for a system cache. Microsoft Windows Vista Premium is the right choice for Media pc due to some great features that make it more convenient to navigate thru your media files. Use a wireless keyboard and mouse for added freedom around your living room. With the provided remote control not only can the PC be turned on & off, you can access various media such as movies, music files, pictures and internet radio, and control multimedia peripherals such as DVD, TV, digital camcorder, and digital camera. That makes it great for home theater multimedia system in the living room. Consider purchasing a large screen LCD display to use it as your pc display and a TV at the same time.

SILENT GAMING PC

Right components for my Gaming Pc: Choosing No noise pc 300 or 500 both will do the job. In a good gaming pc you will need a good Graphics card while both brands will do the job Nvidia graphics engine is used more often to build games around that is why we suggest Nvidia and while building a gamers pc, graphics are one of most important components in gaming pc, however it does not mean that you need the latest $600.00 video card when Nvidia 7600 series will handle just about anything you throw at it with features such as: Full Microsoft DirectX 9.0, Shader Model 3.0 support, True high dynamic-range (HDR) lighting support, NVIDIA PureVideo Technology, NVIDIA CineFX 4.0 engine, NVIDIA Intellisample 4.0 technology, NVIDIA ForceWare Unified Driver Architecture (UDA), NVIDIA nView multi-display technology, PCI Express support, OpenGL 2.0 support. That's why we suggest investing the savings in to other components that make a better and smoother gaming like a good set of headphones or a nice set of speakers for your gaming pc and a sound card that is able to produce a rich gaming experience by improving the quality of all in game sounds and voices. Onboard video and sound not only steals performance out of your pc processor but makes a poor gaming experience. Large Hard Drive capacity is not necessarily better in a gaming pc, the more data to go thru, the more time it takes to retrieve it and it can result in more lag, consider a different storage source such as Rewritable DVD drive that will be more budget friendly than buying a double sized Hard drive, if you come to a decision to get more hard drive space, consider no noise pc 500 with dual identical hard drives and raid 0 option for double the data seek time. Fax modem will be needed only in case if you are planning to use dial up internet service provider with your pc. If you are planning to get a high speed ISP such as Broadband cable or high speed dsl service you will use the built in Ethernet connection and a provided modem from your isp. If you will be running a few programs and pc services at the same time we suggest getting 1gig of system ram and if you want games to load faster and lag less time right after they load, consider 2gig of ram or more and a Dual core Processor featured in our no noise pc 500 line all of our featured processors Intel or AMD are 64 bit ready and compatible with the next generation of software including Windows Vista. Use a wired keyboard and mouse for better control response than wireless devices. With the provided remote control not only can the PC be turned on & off, you can access various media such as movies, music files, pictures and internet radio, and control multimedia peripherals such as DVD, TV, digital camcorder, and digital camera. Consider purchasing a good set of headphones or a nice set of speakers for your gaming pc good sound is half the experience.

SILENT BUDGET OR OFFICE PC

Right components for my office or budget pc: Choosing No noise pc 300 is more appropriate in this case. Onboard video and sound equipment is a good choice if budget is an issue, while it will not be able to run complex game graphics or high definition video, it will get the job done for simple tasks or even light video or basic gaming processing. Keep in mind, that adding an entry level video and sound cards will greatly increase overall performance by taking video and sound processing away from cpu and allowing more speed capacity. Hard Drive capacity is just your decision, the more the better but consider a different storage sources such as Rewritable DVD drive that will be more budget friendly than buying a double sized Hard drive. Fax modem will be needed only in case if you are planning to use dial up internet service provider with your pc. If you are planning to get a high speed ISP such as Broadband cable or high speed dsl service you will use the built in Ethernet connection and a provided modem from your isp. If you will be running less than few programs and pc services at the same time we suggest getting 1gb of system ram but that must be the first thing on your list to upgrade to 2gb. All of our featured Processors are 64 bit ready and compatible with the next generation of software including Windows Vista. Flash Reader comes standard with 300 or 500 series and is convenient if you use flash memory sticks to move data from another pc or pictures from your camera without cables, the next Windows operating system is said to use and recognize flash memory cards as system cache, if you have any flash memory cards you can use them for as a performance booster. Use a wired keyboard and mouse for better control response than wireless devices. With the provided remote control not only can the PC be turned on & off, you can access various media such as movies, music files, pictures and internet radio, and control multimedia peripherals such as DVD, TV, digital camcorder, and digital camera.

SILENT SOHO (small office, home office) SERVER

Right components for my small office or home office server : Choosing No noise pc 500 is more appropriate in this case. Video and sound cards must be selected based on your secondary personal use of this PC other than running a server. If this pc will be used for gaming other than a server or media pc, please refer to Media pc or gaming pc suggestions. Hard Drive capacity is just your decision, the more the better but consider a dual drive with a raid 1 if the server will be used for storage that greatly improves data seek time and security by mirroring same image on two drives. The only drawback to raid 1 is, it consumes double the space. If you need a fast server response with less delay you will be needing a minimum 2gig of system ram and if you are planning to run a heavier load of applications at the same time consider 4gig of ram. Dual core Processor is a must if this server will be in use while using it as a pc at the same time all of our featured processors Intel or AMD in 500 series are 64 bit ready and dual core. These processors are also compatible with the next generation of software including Windows Vista. With the provided remote control not only can the PC be turned on & off, you can access various media such as movies, music files, pictures and internet radio, and control multimedia peripherals such as DVD, TV, digital camcorder, and digital camera.

What RAID configuration is right for me?

Selecting no raid is most appropriate for almost all users, however advanced users that work with high bandwidth demanding software or when data security is an extreme priority consider a RAID option.

RAID 0: Advantages: RAID 0 implements a striped disk array, the data is broken down into blocks and each block is written to a separate disk drive. Performance is greatly improved by spreading the load across multiple channels and drives. Disadvantages: Not a "True" RAID because it is NOT fault-tolerant. The failure of just one drive will result in all data in an array being lost. Should never be used in mission critical environments. Recommended use for RAID 0: Video Production and Editing, Image Editing, Pre-Press Applications, Any application requiring high bandwidth.

RAID 1: Advantages:Twice the Read transaction rate of single disks, same write transaction rate as single disks.100% redundancy of data means no rebuild is necessary in case of a disk failure, just a copy to the replacement disk. Transfer rate per block is equal to that of a single disk. Under certain circumstances, RAID 1 can sustain multiple simultaneous drive failures. Disadvantages: Highest disk overhead of all RAID types. Recommended use for RAID 1: Accounting, Payroll, Financial, Any application requiring very high availability.
